Stanley Cup ratings jump 43% across North America, NHL says

Stanley Cup Finals See Big Ratings Boost

The National Hockey League (NHL) is celebrating a significant rise in viewership for the Stanley Cup Finals. According to the league, Game 1 drew in a whopping 43% more viewers across North America compared to the same game last year. This translates to a total audience of 7.1 million viewers in the United States and Canada combined.

Experts believe a key factor behind the surge is a Canadian team making it to the final stage. The Edmonton Oilers' participation in the championship series is the second time since 2012 that a Canadian team has vied for the Stanley Cup, rekindling excitement among hockey fans north of the border.

This increase in viewership is a positive sign for the NHL. It suggests that the league is successfully attracting new audiences and keeping existing fans engaged.
