Haris Rauf accused of ball tampering in match against USA

Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf finds himself embroiled in controversy following his team's surprising loss to the USA in the ongoing T20 World Cup. Former South African cricketer Rusty Theron, who is now part of the US team, accused Rauf of ball tampering during the match. Theron reportedly pointed to footage where Rauf appeared to be shining the ball with his thumbnail, which is a violation of cricket's rules.

This accusation has cast a shadow over Pakistan's campaign. Ball tampering is a serious offense in cricket, and if proven guilty, Rauf could face a lengthy suspension. The International Cricket Council (ICC) is yet to announce an official investigation, but they are likely to review the footage and speak to both teams involved.

The timing of the accusation couldn't be worse for Pakistan. They are already under pressure after their unexpected defeat to a less fancied opponent. If Rauf is found guilty, it would be a major blow to their chances of winning the World Cup. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expressed its support for Rauf and has stated that they will cooperate fully with any ICC investigation.

Rauf has yet to comment on the allegations. This is a developing story, and it remains to be seen what action the ICC will take. The cricket world will be watching closely to see how this unfolds
