Plans for ferry's floating bar take step forward

An historic ferry vessel, like the one above, could be transformed into a floating entertainment venue

A retired ferry is about to set sail on a new adventure – as a floating bar and restaurant! The historic MV Royal Daffodil, which used to carry passengers across the River Mersey in Liverpool, UK, is being transformed into an entertainment venue.  The project has been in the works for a while, but it recently gained momentum after getting the go-ahead from the Liverpool Council. Now, the team behind the renovation is applying for a license to operate the venue.  If all goes according to plan, the floating bar will be open to the public at a permanent mooring point within Canning Dock. Here's what you can expect:

 Relaxed atmosphere:

The venue will likely offer a chill vibe during the weekdays, welcoming guests from 8am to 11pm. On weekends, it will stay open later, catering to night owls until 2am.

Drinks and dining:

Food and drinks will be a big part of the experience. You can expect a restaurant serving meals and a bar offering beverages, possibly from 11am onwards.

 Entertainment options:

The venue might also host live music performances, adding to the lively atmosphere, especially during the weekends.

A touch of history:

Part of the ferry might be transformed into a heritage museum, allowing visitors to learn about the vessel's rich history.

This project seems to offer a unique way to experience Liverpool's waterfront. If you're ever in the area, keep an eye out for the MV Royal Daffodil – it might be the perfect spot for a relaxing drink, a delicious meal, and a dose of history!
